i-Chill



ABOUT-
i-Chill is the innovation idea and intellectual property of i-CREATORZ which is an incubate at KIIT TBI, Bhubaneswar (Supported and funded by Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India). It is a cooler cum fridge with the ability of purifying contaminated water filled inside it and the rain water collected by itself which are used for various purpose like drinking filling the tank of the cooler irrigating plants use as a distil water in batteries etc in the i-Chill the water is circulated in the panes even when the motor is switched off and moisture is maintained in it even in high temperatures. One can also store food stuffs in cold temperature inside the i-Chill. The best about i-Chill is that it is eco friendly easy to operate handle and is cost effective. It is designed considering both urban and rural areas of India. And lack of proper quality of drinking water. In India most of the region has hot climate for maximum duration of the year where our i-Chill can bring relaxation comfort easiness and healthy life to the people. One can say i-Chill is five in one product as it works as cooler fridge water purifier, rain water conservation kit and cent percent water management system and thus minimizes the space required for individuals.

i-ChillTECHNICAL WRITEUP

ELEMENT 1: (Cooler)
The body of the cooler is made of 22 gauge steel sheet, having dimension 2×2×4. Further from three sides i.e left, right and back especially designed panes installed which are 2×2.5in dimension and have half inch thick chamber for wooden grass and one inch thick chamber for charcoal. This chamber is across the length and breadth of the cooler is 2×2×12’’ in dimensions. A submersible pump is installed in the bottom water tank to circulate water in the three panes through ¾pipes which have point holes at the bottom surface of the pipe to maintain moisture in the wooden grass and charcoal. The cooler is covered from above by upper water tank which is six inch in height and having bottom base 4’’×4’’and 2×2at the top, which is further covered by a pane of 2×2in order to restrict evaporation of water in the upper water tank and to avoid it getting contained from foreign agents. In the cooler on the front side a 15 inch exhaust of 2400 rpm rating is installed provided with power indicator speed regulator and ON/ OFF switch.

ELEMENT 2: (Fridge)
A conical shaped drinking water tank is installed at the height of 6’’ from the base of the drinking water tank is 5 litres provided with two nozzle one at the base and another at the top (mouth) of it for the entry of the water inside drinking water tank from the nozzle at the base of the drinking water tank a ¾’’ pipe is drawn out through the left side pane to the base of the cooler base where a top is attached in which water supply is maintain through the process of syphon. This drinking water tank is made using 24 gauge metal sheets. It is being done so because metal gets cold quickly and thus will cool the water inside it and due to conical in shape the surface area of the drinking water tank is increased and thus it is cool from all the sides excluding the 2 inch diameter opening at the mouth of the drinking water tank.
For keeping the food stuffs a rack is made of metal sheet is installed at the left and back corner of the cooler so the cold breeze entering inside the cooler through the panes may keep the food stuffs also chill.

ELEMENT 3: (Water purifier)
The water from the upper water tank is transferred to the 1st chamber of the T3 after passing through the charcoal then pebbles in the 2nd and finally sand in the 3rd chamber of the T3 in each chamber the water again passes through the sieve of 0.75µ and cotton cloth. From the T3 the water pass through the transport chamber containing alum wrapped in cotton cloth fix at the mouth of the transparent chamber. Now from transparent chamber the water enters the specially designed brass chamber in which the chamber is divided into two halves uptill ¾ of its height from the top. The water enters from top one half and has to move to the base of the copper channel and then the water will rise above as its the property of water to reach the same level at both the ends. At the second half a nozzle is fixed at exact half of the height of copper chamber for the outlet of water. As the copper ionises the impurities in the water, therefore, they become bulky and get settled at the bottom of the chamber ant impurities will not rise against the gravity. This chamber can be cleaned by opening the nozzle which is provided at the bottom and is closed using pipe whose one end is sealed. From the nozzle provided in the second half of the copper chamber the water enters inside the drinking water tank from its mouth as both are connected using ¾ inch pipe.
 
ELEMENT 4: (100% Water Management System):
This is the best feature of i-Chill as far as management of water is wasted and the effort is made the each and every drop of water is utilized. It is achieved in the following manner. The contaminated or rain water from the upper water tank is circulated through the network of pipes to the water purifier and to the panes. From the water purifiers the water gets stored in drinking water tank and when it is filled it starts filling the bottom water tank. When bottom water tank gets filled up then it starts transferring the extra water to irrigate plants planted in the pots or in the bucket from which the water can be used for the boiling and washing purpose. Even from the side panes the extra water is supplied to bottom water tank. In this whole process there is no wastage of water. In order to avoid water from being getting evaporated from the upper water tank a pane is provided above to cover it.

ELEMENT 5: (Rainwater Conservation kit):
The upper water tank performs the function of rain water conservation. When the pane covering it is removed then it starts collecting rain water falling over it.
